What’s the book about?
This is a word to the body of Christ primarily, but others can also benefit. God longs for us to get our understanding of who we are from him, not from the surrounding culture or from those who have believed man’s view of who we are. The book leans heavily on Scripture because the views I’m sharing are biblical but not popular. This is meat, not milk.
We’re told to believe that we’re “sinners saved by grace” and we WERE. We’re told that we’re beggars who have found bread, now leading others to that bread, but neither of those are biblical images for our identity. We’re the ‘sons of God’ . . . So What? presents the neglected view of God’s perspective on who we truly are–the “sons of God.” Women, too, find out how sonship applies to you. How it elevates you. Men discover a sense of your role as a man in this world and the next.
To really get hold of this truth and apply the practical suggestions for your spiritual formation, can break you free of strongholds and generational sin, including alcoholism, drug addictions, sexual addictions, and other bondages that keep us earth-bound. You will be filled with Christ’s humility as you consider the scope of the Good News of the Royal Reign of God the Father and your role in his Kingdom.
Want to know God’s will for your life? Want to know your inheritance and begin living in it? See what follows our light and momentary season of suffering.
Unconvinced? See what others have to say about We’re the ‘sons of God’ . . . So What?

What if You’re Not Who You Think You Are?
Ever wonder why the western church lacks such power and presence? Ever wonder why your life seems to be missing something that would take you over the top in your spiritual growth? Do you want to be more like Jesus?
This word is to those who consider themselves disciples of Jesus Christ. This word is to those who have experienced supernatural regeneration and are “born-from-above.” This word is for those in that group who want to go deeper into the mysteries of Christ.
This word is for those who do not think that they already know all there is to know about being a child of the King. This word is for those who have tasted and seen that the Lord is good and want to know Him better. You’re disatisfied with the status quo. Tired of fighting the church wars. Underwhelmed by the crowds of professing believers who are more about appearances, perfomance-based-easy-believism, and simple platitudes. You are more interested in relationship than a pursuit of knowledge for knowledge-sake. You beleive the Scripture that says knowledge “puffs up” but that love “builds up.” So you want to know the deep love of Chirst and of the Father.
What if you’re not who you think you are?
What if you’re who God thinks you are? What if you’re not merely a servant of God, or a disciple, or even a friend of God. What if you’re who the Father says you are . . . a “son”?
I believe that He has illumined His intent for the church at this season of our journey? I believe that our understanding of who God says we are is an essential prerequisite to the Second Reformation–God’s recapturing of Family, of relationship in His image.
What difference would it make to KNOW that you are loved deeply and have an identity that you may have heard of, but not yet discovered in experience? What if entering into who God says you are were to transform not only your thinking but your everyday decisions and activities? What if the truth about you placed you squarely in the family that God is Father of?
I believe that the Father wants us to know this important truth:
“All who are led by the Spirit are the ‘sons of God.” (Romans 8.14)
Are you born-from-above? Then you have “the right to become [one of the] ‘sons of God.’ (John 1.12)
Are you “led by the Spirit”? The you are one of the “sons of God.” When’s the last time you heard a message on “sonship”? And if you did hear one (and I’d stand amazed, because in 35 years as a Christian, I’ve never heard ONE) did you understand how important it is to God that you understand that identity? Why did He make sure that Scripture preserved and outlined our sonship?
This is an important word for the church today. Sonship is the key to you living into the fullness of what Jesus did in His Atonement. His sacrifice accomplished more than simply forgiving your sins so that you could fly off to heaven [which is an unbiblical image anyhow].
Your identity as one of the ‘sons of God’ is the word for His Family today.
We’re the ‘sons of God’ . . . So What?: Believe God About Who He Says You Really Are!
My book explains from the Word of God why the biblical doctrine of sonship is so important to God the Father, and thus needs to be important to me and you. Perhaps understanding sonship is the next step in your walk with Christ and your fellowship with the Father. I wrote this book to help those who have responsibility in spiritual formation or who are mentors. I also wrote it for anyone who is willing to go deeper. WSOGSW is not an easy read. You may find that you read some and then put it aside for awhile because you have to ponder or dig into the Word. But you receive what you’re willing to give. If you study and meditate upon these truths, you will be amazed at the result.

9/11 Comments: Raw Video from My Booksigning
9/11 was a wake up call. But we’ve gone back to sleep. This is some video footage from my book signing. Rather raw footage. Sound is not great, but it is bearable.
We’re the ‘sons of God’ . . . So What? has a chapter that speaks to the future of our nation as it relates to natural, political, and spiritual trends. It has been prophetic regarding islamization and creeping sharia. My book is available either by using the menu item at top or my book cover on the right navigation column.

Humbled to be a ‘son of God’
When I think of all that the Father has taught me about sonship–both while I wrote my book and in recent days as I wrote my previous post–I’m so grateful and humbled. What a privilege to see the remarkable implications of what Christ opened up for human beings. Unbelievable that we are the many brothers of whom Christ is the firstfruit. He is the pattern of the new humanity, which can only enter sonship through the cross and blood of Christ.
I’m convinced that even believers who love the Lord and would otherwise be devoted to Him and making these truths known are so distracted that they don’t enter into these marvelous promises. Promises that allow us to share the divine nature with Father and Jesus, by means of the Holy Spirit.
“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” (2 Peter 1:3–4, ESV)
Look at the AMAZING richness the Holy Spirit is revealing through Peter. We have “all things” that pertain to this life we’ve been called to–and god-like-ness. How?
Through “the knowledge of Him who called us TO HIS OWN GLORY and EXCELLENCE (we’re to look like Him). Through understanding this, we enter into it more fully. Do you understand it? When the Lord helps a person to progress from saved sinner (which we all were/are) to friend (I no longer call you servants . . . ) to SONS, we become “partakers of the divine nature.” What a MIRACLE! We partake by believing the promises:
he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature
When once we realize the scope of what we’ve been invited into, how can we any longer chase the things of this world?
I’m through with lesser things.
Of course, this won’t win you lots of friends. Even other believers will think you have departed from their idea of Evangelical faith. When in reality, you are just now entering into the fullness of what God has made possible through Christ. After all, all this is by faith.
Faith is not of our own doing. It is a gift of God. That’s why I’m a humbled son. I could never have gotten myself to where I am today in my understanding and experience of sonship apart from the total love and grace of my Father. And by a willingness to be “led by the Spirit” because ALL who are led by the Spirit are the ‘sons of God.’ (Rom. 8.14)
My hope is that by sharing this, I may make someone jealous enough to hunger to seek after God with a whole heart. What he will lead you to is this great truth of sonship. After all, that’s why Christ died. And for those who have arrived at this understanding years before me, may the Lord confirm and strengthen you as you continue to help others to know their Father by your love and life. Our lives are now lived to secure God’s household and bring many sons to glory.
QUESTION: Where are you on the path to sonship?

Do You Have the Faith of a Son?
Do you know that if you are led by the Spirit of God, then you are a “son of God”?
“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14, ESV)
If you are Christ’s . . . you are a “son of God.” But . . . Do you have the Faith of a ‘son’?
This is the truth featured in my book: We’re the ‘sons of God’ . . . So What?: Believe God About Who You REALLY Are!
Now . . . do you believe the text from Romans which you just read? If you walk away from this verse unchanged, then Jesus said that the enemy of your soul steals away the Word. As a result, the truth of God will be unfruitful in you. You will believe what people tell you about yourself, instead of what God tells you about yourself.
Does your own self-talk (or the narrator in your head) agree with what the Word says or do you need to be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Rom. 12:1-2)?
It’s time for believers to believe God about who HE says you really are!
Once you do, God can use you in the family business–bringing in the Kingdom. Are you about your Father’s business . . . or yours?
Jesus wondered if when He came again he would find faith in the earth. What a strange concern. Unless of course, he understood the propensity of the world to erode our faith. The world wants to squeeze you into its mold. Even other belivers and “Christians” don’t want you to believe you’re a ‘son’ of the living God. We are held in check by their misunderstanding of humility (much more on this in my book). Suffice it to say that unless you understand how important it is to be who God has called you to be, you might as well keep telling yourself that you don’t amount to much and that you will be powerless until Jesus returns.
But if you get it, faith will come from hearing the Word that God has spoken. You will begin to know who you really are. Then the Father will create a hunger in you to understand and know how to operate in the realm of a son–you will learn how to stand in the authority of your calling. That’s when you find FEW mentors. Fortunately, Jesus said that He would leave you a Counselor. His role is to lead you into all truth concerning who Jesus is and what your standing is before the Father. He will convince you that you are finally “set apart,” “holy,” a member of God’s own household as you partake of the divine nature. All who are led by the Spirit of God “are the sons of God.” Today. Now!
As the Father gives you more understanding, you will see more opportunity to trust Him. To believe and to stand in the authority to bless. Then what an adventure you’ll be on!
See some of what’s ahead. Know the assurance of those things to which you’ve been called. That’s why I wrote the book. May the Lord bless it to your reading. QUESTION: If you’re NOT a son, what are you?
Beautiful News: All in Him are “sons”
If you cannot express yourself on any subject, struggle until you can. If you do not, someone will be the poorer all the days of his life.
And again,
Try to re-state to yourself what you implicitly feel to be God’s truth, and you give God a chance to pass it on to someone else through you.
Recently, I realized that in all the posts I’ve written and shared, I’ve never laid out clearly the “Beautiful News” of God’s Son as I understand it. If someone tried to invent a great movement or religion they could NEVER have come up with what God did.
BACKGROUND
The first son of God, Adam, abdicated his sonship for his own human desires. And just as God warned, he died spiritually in the day that his “eyes were opened” to good and evil (ethics–before that there was life with Father, evil had no home with the first humans). We all inherited Adam’s humanness including a dead spirit. SO . . . how did God bridge the gap? Someone put it this way:
“The Son of God became the Son of Man, so that the sons of men could become the sons of God.”
To meditate on this for even a few minutes is to lift your mind (and heart, if you are sensitive) into a truth that–for centuries before the coming of Chirst, the Messiah–could never have been foreseen apart from divine intervention. Because of His great love for us (even before we were born), God reconciles us ALL to Himself. He has a masterpiece destiny awaiting us that through the Son and us, brings in the Royal reign of Kingdom of God upon the earth. That He would give us His Son to take upon Himself OUR shattered, darkened humanness is unfathomable . . . but TRUE! And when he births that new spirit in us (theological term “regenerates” us), and gives us the inner will and means to walk by His Holy Spirit, we become “sons of God.” We become royalty. Personally I believe this is what is behind the human facination regarding the royal wedding (see this theme developed in Truth Behind the Royal Wedding).
BAD NEWS
The BAD NEWS precedes the Beautiful News and can be bullet-pointed as following:
- Human beings gave up their immortality and died spiritually through listening to their own desires. We are their descendants.
- Our self-directed, narcissitic lives have separated us from God. Now an impassable divide lays before us.
- We are forever separated from a loving Creator and are mortal (immortality is humanly unreachable; only those in Christ have immortality).
- This results in us pursuing emptiness. We always want and never have enough . . . of anything! (this is called lust; it’s at the core of our nature).
- We lust for food, sex, money, power, and esteem. All these are attempts to fill the inner void that was meant to house a living spirit.
- We grow full of pride over what we have and have done.
- We live this life until every one of us–rich or poor, high or low, religious or atheist–must face the end: DEATH. NO ONE escapes! All die and take nothing from this life, no thoughts, no memory, no life . . . NOTHING!
- We lay in death in the presence of God and we have no discernible being. Until . . .
BEAUTIFUL NEWS
The “Beautiful News” can be bullet-pointed as following:
- We have been given the opportunity of an eternity–immortality restored!
- Messiah, Jesus, came and gave himself to bridge the divide and take into Himself all that separated us from God (He became SIN for us).
- He gave Himself to death, so that we could enter LIFE! . . . IF we would embrace, as precious, the Gift of the Father’s love for us. We do this by renouncing our self-directed lives–our me-centered lust and pride–by accepting His Son’s sacrificial love. This change of heart and mind, will turn us from our self-directed lives and give ourselves to the Love that is enthroned over the Universe–the Living God.
- He, in turn, by His great power, raises our dead spirits to life (now, in this life). And we become the “sons of God.” (we NEVER become or were angels. Angels are a different order of being. They exist to serve God and us, as God directs.)
- At the end of our lives, we die; but . . . the sons of God await the Resurrection of Jesus. Then we receive our new bodies–bodies made for interdimentional life in hyper-time here in the New Earth and New Heavens. The creation awaits this revelation of the sons of God.
- We are seated with and reign with Messiah, Jesus both now (where we are learning the interdimentional aspects of our sonship-reign) and in the New Earth–where we will judge angels.
Those who believe that Jesus came lived, died, was raised again to life opening the way for us into the Kingdom, are given the right to become the “sons of God.” We become sons by the love, grace, and power of God. It is not something that we can evolve into or do for ourselves through religious rituals or behaviors (see Why I Despise “Religion“). That way has been blocked so that no one can boast before God that they were “good enough” or “religious enough” to save themselves.
The rescue was ALL–from beginning to end–of Him. He worked salvation for all of us who would respond to and value His love when we saw it displayed in the life, death, and resurrection of the Father’s Unique Son.
THE BEST PART
(This is the “So What?” part in the title of my book–We’re the ‘sons of God’ . . . So What?) HERE IT IS:
YOU, yes YOU are invited to receive the gift of immortality and new life in Christ. That’s why our healing community of brothers and sisters in Christ is named, New Life Fellowship. You need only seek and ask. All who call upon the name of the Lord, Jesus will be saved.
The SAD part–Jesus said that few do. People want to work their own salvation . . . or better yet . . . deny they even need it. They will suffer the loss of everything in the end and ultimately will pass into the Lake of Fire and be destroyed (NOTE: The Father of Jesus and his family of sons and daughters never created the Lake of Fire for people. He created it for the demonic and the Accuser. Rather ME-centered, pleasure-centered people choose that destiny rather than submit themselves to the Father of the Kingdom of Love.) Whether the Lake of Fire is a metaphor or literal location is not the point here, entrance there will be no less terrifying to those who have chosen to reject Christ, the Father and His Kingdom.
The “Beautiful News” is that YOU were destined by God for sonship–to share in His Kingdom. Will you respond to His love for you? Will you accept the offer he makes of peace between you and Him? I agree with His Spirit when I say to you, “Come.” Return to the Father of your soul and live. By His goodness, take up your masterpiece destiny.
