On an Interview with Michael Jackson. Sent by email to Barbara Walters on 2/6/03:
Riveting story. Jackson
is a sad, lonely symbol of our morphing American culture adrift in NoWhereLand.
I fear that the worst is yet ahead for him . . . and us.
The only thing more pathetic is Martin Bashir. To anyone
watching, it was clear that Jackson
is out of touch with reality. However, the interviewer–who claims to be the
adult he wants to shock Jackson
into being–feigned friendship with Jackson
for money and fame. He is five million dollars richer at Jackson’s expense. If he were blind he would
not be guilty, but because he claims he can see (immorality in Jackson) Bashir’s guilt remains.
