“But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you.” –Ps. 40:16
The reward for seeking God . . . is GOD! We are encouraged by Jesus to seek with the promise that we will find. but many seek God to find things God gives–health, happiness, prosperity, ministry assignments, spiritual gifts, relationships, employment. None of these are bad in and of themselves. But how many who seek God really expect to find God? Just him? How many would be satisfied in finding Him at the end of their seeking instead of the treasures he can give?
We have all been guilty of this self-centered seeking. We wander into it even after walking with Him for many years. And having already learned this lesson, we have readjusted our thinking and seeking. Yet still get distracted from the real prize.
PRAYER
I want to again ask, Lord, may my search for you always end in the wonderful, extreme contentment of finding YOU.
My heart will be satisfied with you, and you alone.
