You have one chance of escape. That is if you take my Word to heart and turn from your present course. Turn to my Way. Hold to my Law, not yours. For my laws are far above U.S. or International Law. My Law is the law that you are accountable to.
You delight in dragging the poor into court. You delight in filing cases. I will sit as Judge and to what court will you appeal when I command?
Now hear MY case concerning you:
Isaiah 3:15 (NIV) — What do you mean by crushing my people and grinding the faces of the poor?” declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.
Isaiah 10:1–4 (NIV) — 1 Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, 2 to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless. 3 What will you do on the day of reckoning, when disaster comes from afar? To whom will you run for help? Where will you leave your riches? 4 Nothing will remain but to cringe among the captives or fall among the slain. Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away, his hand is still upraised.
Isaiah 32:7 (NIV) — 7 The scoundrel’s methods are wicked, he makes up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just.
Jeremiah 5:27–29 (NIV) — 27 Like cages full of birds, their houses are full of deceit; they have become rich and powerful 28 and have grown fat and sleek. Their evil deeds have no limit; they do not plead the case of the fatherless to win it, they do not defend the rights of the poor. 29 Should I not punish them for this?” declares the Lord. “Should I not avenge myself on such a nation [company] as this?
HEED MY LAWS:
Leviticus 19:9–19 (NIV)
9 ” ‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. 10 Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the Lord your God. [How about seed?]
11 ” ‘Do not steal.
” ‘Do not lie.
” ‘Do not deceive one another.
12 ” ‘Do not swear falsely by my name and so profane the name of your God. I am the Lord.
13 ” ‘Do not defraud your neighbor or rob him.
” ‘Do not hold back the wages of a hired man overnight.
14 ” ‘Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the Lord.
15 ” ‘Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.
16 ” ‘Do not go about spreading slander among your people.
” ‘Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the Lord.
17 ” ‘Do not hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in his guilt.
18 ” ‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
19 ” ‘Keep my decrees . . .
Deuteronomy 24:14–15 (NIV)
14 Do not take advantage of a hired man who is poor and needy, whether he is a brother Israelite or an alien living in one of your towns. 15 Pay him his wages each day before sunset, because he is poor and is counting on it. Otherwise he may cry to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
I see you. You are not hidden from my eyes. You think that what you do you do in secret. I have heard your counsels and your conceits. You are led by blind guides. You have taken the way of Pharaoh and have hardened your hearts. You have one chance. You are receiving your notice NOW. If you do not turn, I will act.
You have become a people whom I will hook by the nose and drag into my courts. None who refuse to repent shall escape. Your bottom line will bottom out.
